London renters are increasingly seeking pet friendly landlords, after millions of Brits bought animals during lockdowns. Chestertons said some 25-35% of renters hunting for properties in the capital at the moment are pet owners. The estate agency forecast that renters would be increasingly eager to find homes suitable for pets after the Pet Food Manufacturers' Association found 3.2m households had bought a dog since Covid struck in 2020. Additionally, Rightmove found that demand for rental homes welcoming pets had risen some 120% in the year following August 2020.
