Footfall in Central London has lagged behind the recovery seen in other regional cities in the UK. All types of town centres saw a rise in footfall last week, compared to the previous week. Footfall across all retail destinations in the country saw a 2.2% week-on-week increase. The largest rate of growth was seen in regional cities outside of London, at 7.1%, while footfall rose by just 3.3% in Central London. This has partly been attributed to a higher number of workers returning to offices outside the capital. Footfall in areas with a high density of offices, including the City of London, rose by 3% last week, on the week before.
